- Whether it is bag-in-box packaging, cans, PET bottles or returnable glass bottles, alternative forms of packaging are becoming increasingly important in the wine industry. At a time when sustainable production and consumption is a key concern for the majority of the population, wineries and cellars must follow this trend. However, despite the many ecological advantages of the Frugal Bottle, such as its good recyclability and low weight, the range of wines available in alternative packaging to glass bottles is still limited in the German wine market. The Frugal Bottle as a new packaging model should be an ideal addition to the broad market. The following paper presents the Frugal Bottle, its history and key figures. It also uses the example of Cantina Goccia winery to show how this paper bottle can be successfully integrated. An interview was conducted with Managing Director Ceri Parke. Ceri Parke. There were a lot of things to consider during the changeover, from a financial, labour management and marketing perspective. The Frugal Bottle is a packaging model that cannot be easily integrated into a business without prior adaptation. Additional uses for the bottle can also add value to the product for wineries.
