Research focus
Prof. Dr. Lena Keller’s research group focuses on the interdisciplinary research and development of innovative approaches in the field of natural product research. Our work centers on the identification and characterization of bioactive substances, particularly those derived from natural sources such as grapevines and wine. We investigate the complex chemical and sensory properties of these substances to unlock their potential for applications that promote sustainability in wine production, medicine, and materials science. To this end, we use modern analytical methods, including metabolomics, to develop precise and efficient solutions that benefit both science and industry. Our research is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that combines chemistry, biotechnology, viticulture, and materials science to break new ground in natural product research and sustainability in technology development.
