Digital Info Day at the Wine Campus Neustadt

The coronavirus pandemic still has our society firmly in its grip, meaning that events, fairs and information days cannot take place on site. However, to give prospective students the opportunity to get a virtual taste of campus life, the Wine Campus Neustadt is once again offering a completely digital information day.

Information will be provided about the four-year dual Bachelor's degree program in Viticulture and Enology with a 24-month winemaking apprenticeship and the three-year dual Bachelor's degree program in Viticulture and Enology following a winemaking apprenticeship. Anyone interested will also receive advice on the part-time MBA Wine, Sustainability & Sales program , which is taught in English &. The German-French dual Master's degree program in Viticulture and Enology started last fall with the first semester and there will also be some information about it.

A virtual tour of some of the Wine Campus rooms is being prepared especially for this occasion. Whether microscopy or sensory laboratory, lecture halls, library or oenology technology center: prospective students can take a 360-degree view of the most important rooms of their potential future place of study. The virtual tour will also be available on the Wine Campus website after the event and will be expanded in the coming months to include stations on the outdoor area.

"With the new virtual tour, we have created another opportunity to get to know our study programs and the campus from a distance," says Dr. Wilhelma Metzler, Managing Director of the Wine Campus. "We want to make the Wine Campus an international experience and give interested parties the opportunity to immerse themselves in our campus atmosphere online."

The Wine Campus Neustadt stands for practical teaching and applied science in the middle of vineyards. With around 200 students, teaching at the Wine Campus takes place in small groups with individual support. On the digital info day on 24.02.2021 at 1 p.m., participants will also get to know part of the campus team - from the comfort of their own home at . There will also be insights from Wine Campus students into their current everyday lives: How does studying work in Corona times? And how can sensory wine tastings be held virtually? But questions about everyday student life will also be addressed: For example, application and admission requirements, stays abroad during your studies, language lessons in the German-French Master's program, financing and housing issues, as well as vocational training to become a winemaker and the practical part of your studies. Individual questions can be answered during the event via the chat.

Course director Prof. Dr. Dominik Durner is convinced that he has the right roadmap for the future: "The Wine Campus Neustadt is a unique institution and we see it as our task to get young people excited about the world of wine. Many people from outside the industry really have no idea how highly technologized and sometimes complex the processes involved in viticulture and wine production have become. With new, digital solutions such as a virtual tour, social distance tastings or explanatory videos on application processes, we want to build a bridge to all those who are interested in studying at the Wine Campus or would like to find out more in a simple way."

The virtual event format will also be maintained in the long term and thus complements the on-site info day at the Wine Campus, which is scheduled to take place on April 29, 2021 .
Registration for the digital info day is requested; all registered persons will then receive the dial-in links conveniently by email in the run-up to the event.
