Franco-German Master's degree program in viticulture & Enology accredited

The new dual German-French Master's degree program in Viticulture & Enology (M.Sc.), which has been offered in cooperation with the Université de Haute-Alsace in Colmar since the 2020 winter semester, has now been accredited by the Accreditation Council Foundation. The good news reached us just before Christmas. The accreditation is unconditional and is valid until 31.08.2028.

"Accreditation stands for quality assurance and is an important seal of approval for both the degree program and the students. After receiving co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) last summer, we are delighted that our unique concept of a dual and binational Master's degree course has now convinced the accreditation committee," emphasizes course director Prof. Dr. Maren Scharfenberger-Schmeer. "The dual study program allows students to gain up to one year of practical experience in three countries (Germany, France, Switzerland). In addition, the cooperation with the Université de Haute-Alsace enables us to offer students an international range of courses and give our Wine Campus an international orientation."

The aim of accreditation is to ensure the quality of studies and teaching, to improve the comparability of degree programs and to ensure their international recognition.
