NEO Fumé Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc Fumé

NEO

Sauvignon Blanc is in a class of its own! The Sauvingon Blanc grape has long enjoyed international recognition and although it has only been native to us for a few decades, it is full of surprises.

Our NEO Sauvignon Blanc Fumé is no exception. The wine was pressed as a whole grape and allowed to mature for a full nine months on the lees in wooden barrels. Thanks to the careful treatment by bâtonnage, where the yeast is stirred again and again, the NEO Sauvignon Blanc Fumé gains creamy and fruity aromas.

But what does fumé mean? Fumé is translated from French as "smoked". Fumé originally comes from the Loire. There are flints there that develop sparks and smoke when struck against a metal-containing rock. Fumé therefore primarily refers to the French origin of the wine.

The style of our 2020 NEO Sauvignon Blanc Fumé is characterized by the superficial gooseberry and the warm fruity passion fruit. Mango, pineapple and grapefruit support the tropical aroma and a hint of vanilla rounds off the balanced taste experience. The combination of fresh acidity and creaminess is not only interesting, but also incredibly enjoyable.
