As part of the elective course “Startup Management,” students in the Viticulture and Enology program presented their innovative business ideas to a panel of experts.
The concepts presented reflected the wide variety of entrepreneurial ideas centered on wine, tourism, and event management. The spectrum ranges from an event venue with a pop-up wine tavern to proxy wines and a finca for artists and those seeking relaxation, all the way to an experiential winery featuring a wine bar, workshops, and corporate events. The portfolio is rounded out by a marketing agency for event planning, a proprietary wine line with a personalized brand story, and an innovative trendy beverage designed specifically to introduce younger target groups to the taste of wine.
The event offers students the opportunity to present their ideas under realistic conditions, receive valuable feedback from industry professionals, and further develop their startup concepts. At the same time, it highlights the close collaboration between the Wine Campus Neustadt and regional partners and startup stakeholders who support aspiring entrepreneurs on their journey from concept to implementation.
The pitches will be evaluated by a jury that will provide the teams with valuable feedback on their business models, target audiences, and implementation strategies. Participants include the HWG Ludwigshafen Startup Office, VR-Bank Mittelhaardt, and the startup platform.
